How do I request a service?
Request for a service can be placed using the online
work order system which can be reached through the
Service
Requests
link at the bottom of every page in the Facilities
Maintenance Management Website. Also requests can
be placed through the Facilities help desk at 312.567.3343.
Which department at facilities
is responsible for what?
The Facilities department is currently divided
into the following organizational units.
- Design and Construction
- Facilities Maintenance Management
- Rental Property
- Occupational and Environmental Safety
Design and Construction: The design and
Construction Department at IIT serves the needs
of the University in areas of planning, design,
and construction for all new construction and renovation
projects on Campus.
Facilities Maintenance Management: Facilities
Maintenance Management (FMM) department is responsible
for keeping IIT's physical assets functional while
maintaining the physical environment at IIT beautiful
and hospitable, to see a complete list of the services
offered by the department please see the
Department
Services page. All on campus work orders are
also handled by the Facilities Maintenance Management
department, the facilities department also engages
with the IIT community through this department,
hence most of this website is to be found under
the Facilities Maintenance Management section.
Rental Property: Manages the various IIT
properties rented or leased spas office space,
retail space or research.
The Office of Occupational and Environmental
Safety: The Office of Environmental and Occupational
Safety works to ensure compliance with federal,
state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
The OES Department also assists departments in devising appropriate safety
procedures and training.
How do I get to the Facilities
department at IIT?
The facilities department is located in Machinery
Hall at the western end of the IIT campus, just next

Where can I find a list of
building monitors for each building, what are the
responsibilities of a building monitor?
The list of all building monitors can be found

The Building Monitor will serve as the liaison
between FMM and the building occupants in a more
structured, enhanced role. FMM will provide each
Building Monitor detailed information specific to
their respective buildings, including building
layouts and procedures to handle service requests.
Building Monitors are notified via e-mail of all
work orders generated by other building occupants.
In addition, they will receive e-mail notices of any
work schedule by FMM, which may impact their
building. Monitors are also to inspect their
respective buildings and submit an inspection
report.
Who is in charge of the design
and construction of a project?
As already stated the Design and Construction
dept. is responsible for new projects. Contact
the department's Director, Terry Frigo for list of
individual project coordinators for specific
projects.
Are Utility and Floor plans
available to the general public, if so, how do I get
them?
Utility and floor plans can be made available to
appropriate persons by contacting FMM, Design and
Construction or Building Monitor.
